A lantern candle warmer with the pattern cut clean through
This is a lantern candle warmer by shape: a matte black iron drum, cut all the way around, hanging from an arched black pole over a round black base. Switch it on and warm light comes through every opening; in a dark room the pattern falls onto the wall behind. The look borrows from the punched metal lantern, but nothing inside is burning. A bulb in the shade melts the top of your jar candle from above, so it is a flameless candle lantern in the plain sense: no flame, no smoke, just the scent.
How this candle lantern warmer is built
- A cut out lamp shade, not a printed one. Where a punched metal lamp has rows of small holes, this shade has whole shapes cut out of the iron, so it reads as a pierced metal lamp from every side.
- Four patterns, one build. All four lantern candle warmers share the same shade shape, pole and base; only the design changes. The Snowman shade puts a snowman in a lantern, ringed by snowflakes and pine trees.
- No flame at any point. Used as a lantern wax warmer, it heats the wax with a bulb, the wick is never lit, and no soot builds up on the jar.
- Brightness, timer and height all adjust. Set how bright it glows, set a timer so it switches itself off, and raise or lower the shade for a tall jar or a short one.
- Iron shade, iron base. Both are matte black, joined by a black metal pole with a ribbed collar partway up, a finish that sits easily with rustic lantern decor.
Pick the pattern for the person. For hummingbird gifts, the hummingbird shade is the natural choice: it can stay out all year, not just in December. If you are shopping Christmas lanterns with lights, the snowman, tree and Santa shades do that job and warm a candle too. As tabletop lantern decor it suits a mantel, a side table or a windowsill. It ships in a 23 × 14 × 14 cm box (9.1 × 5.5 × 5.5 in) at 700 g (1.5 lb); the jar in these photos is a prop.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the four patterns?
Only the cut-out design. Hummingbird shows a hummingbird among daisies and small blossoms, the one to keep out all year. Snowman has a snowman in a hat and scarf with snowflakes and pine trees. Christmas Tree has folk-style trees, stars, sprigs and dotted garlands. Santa lifts a wrapped gift among snowflakes and small trees. The shade shape, pole, base, adjustments and price are the same on all four.
Is it a real lantern that holds a candle?
No. Lantern describes the shape, not how it works. The shade holds the bulb, and your jar candle stands on the base below it without ever being lit. In other words, it is an electric candle warmer lantern lamp: it plugs in, the bulb warms the wax from above, and the scent comes up with no flame and no smoke. Candles are not included.
Is this a punched tin candle warmer?
Not literally. The shade is iron, and the pattern is laser-cut rather than punched, so it is not a punched tin wax warmer either. What it shares with punched tin lamps and pierced tin lamps is the look: a dark metal drum with warm light coming through the openings. The difference is inside, where a bulb, not a burning candle, does the work.
Does the pattern show when the lamp is on?
Yes. The design is cut clean through the iron, so with the lamp on, warm light comes through every opening and the whole pattern glows. In a dark room the light also falls through the cut-outs onto a nearby wall or tabletop, so it doubles as a shadow lamp. With the lamp off, the shade reads as matte black, with the outline of the design still visible.
What can I adjust on it?
Three things. You can set the brightness, set a timer so the lamp switches itself off, and change the height: raise the shade over a taller jar candle or lower it closer to a short one. All four patterns share the same shade, pole and base, so they adjust the same way.
