Product details
A lily of the valley lamp that warms a candle as it glows
The bell is the flower. Pink glass, layered with rounded petals at the crown and ribbed down to a scalloped hem, hangs face-down from a polished gold pole that arches over the base, the way a lily of the valley bloom hangs from its stem. Set a jar candle in the shallow recess of the wood base and switch on. The bulb warms the top of the wax until the scent opens, with no open flame and a wick that stays unlit.
What you get with this lily of the valley candle warmer
- Pink ribbed glass. Fine vertical ribs run down the bell, so the light comes through in soft lines rather than one flat glow.
- A petal crown and a scalloped hem. Rounded petals overlap around the top of the bell, and the lower edge breaks into gentle scallops.
- Brightness and timer adjust. Bring the light up while the wax softens, lower it once the scent has settled, and set a run time so the lamp switches itself off.
- Height adjusts. Raise or lower the bell to sit closer to a short jar or clear a taller one.
- Gold pole, natural wood base. A polished gold arch with a knurled collar, on a round wood base with a recessed ring the jar sits in.
Pink glass and a drooping bell make it a natural coquette lamp for a dressing table or bedside, next to peonies and a folded pink napkin. In lily of the valley decor it is the piece that also does a job, lighting the corner while it warms the candle. Lily of the valley is the traditional May birth flower, which makes this one of the more personal lily of the valley gifts for a May birthday. It ships in a 28 x 16 x 16 cm box (11.0 x 6.3 x 6.3 in) at about 1.2 kg (2.6 lb).

Frequently asked questions
Is the bell shade real glass?
Yes. The bell is pink glass with fine vertical ribs, a band of rounded petals at the top and a scalloped hem, and it glows pink when the bulb is on. The round base is natural wood.
Can I adjust the brightness, the timer and the height?
Yes, all three. Brightness and run time both adjust, so you can bring the light up while the wax softens and set the lamp to switch itself off later. The height adjusts as well, so the bell can sit lower over a short jar or higher over a tall one.
Is there an open flame?
No. The wick is never lit. The bulb inside the pink bell warms the top of the wax from above until it melts and the scent comes through. Switch the lamp off and the wax sets again.
Why a lily of the valley shape?
The pink bell hangs from its arched pole the way a lily of the valley bloom hangs from its stem, with a petal crown and a scalloped hem. Lily of the valley is also the traditional May birth flower, so the shape carries meaning for a May birthday as well as looking pretty on a dressing table.
