Product details
A vintage candle warmer in caramel amber glass
This vintage candle warmer is built around one shape: a bell of glossy caramel glass, capped in chrome with a small ball finial. A slim chrome arm rises from the edge of a round, two-tier oak base and curves over to hold it. The bulb inside the bell warms your jar candle from above, with no open flame and the wick never lit.
Why it reads as a retro candle warmer lamp
- Caramel glass that changes with the light. Unlit, the bell is deep caramel. Lit, it turns amber-orange: an orange candle warmer lamp in the soft, burnt sense rather than a bright one.
- Chrome against wood. A chrome cap and arm over a brown-stained oak base: the metal-and-wood pairing you expect from a mid century modern candle warmer lamp.
- One smooth piece of glass. As a retro glass candle warmer lamp it has no panels or frame on the shade, so the colour runs unbroken all the way round.
- No open flame. The bulb warms the wax from above; nothing is lit and there is nothing to blow out.
- Dimmer and timer. Bring the light up while the wax opens, take it down for the evening, and let the timer switch it off.
It borrows the outline of an antique candle warmer, but it is a new lamp, not a restored one. Beside a mustard armchair, it is the kind of candle lamp vintage shoppers notice from across the room. Off, the caramel bell holds its own as a vintage candle lamp. On, the retro candle warmer melts the wax below. It is a candle warmer lamp retro enough for a record shelf and quiet enough for a nightstand. It ships in a 34 x 24 x 26 cm box (13.4 x 9.4 x 10.2 in) at about 1.5 kg (3.3 lb), and it is an easy lamp to give as a gift.

Frequently asked questions
Is the shade on the vintage candle warmer made of glass?
Yes. It is glossy caramel glass in a water-drop outline with a flared rim, which is why we call it a bell. It sits under a chrome-finish cap with a small ball finial. Lit, the colour warms to amber-orange.
How many bulbs does it use, and is there a flame?
One bulb, and no flame. The bulb sits inside the bell and warms the top of the wax from above, so the wick is never lit and there is no smoke. The lamp still gets warm while it runs, so stand it on a flat surface, keep it clear of curtains, and switch it off when you leave the room.
Does the vintage candle warmer lamp have a dimmer and a timer?
Yes, both adjust: brightness up while the wax opens, down to a low glow afterwards, and a run time so the lamp switches itself off. The controls are on the cord, not on the oak base.
Is this an old lamp, or a new vintage looking candle warmer lamp?
New. It is a vintage style candle warmer lamp made today, not a restored original, so there is no collector's history behind it. That also makes it a candle warmer lamp vintage fans can switch on every evening without treating it as a collectible.
Is the base real wood, and is a candle included?
Yes. The base is oak, round and built in two tiers with a brown stain, and the cord leaves from its side. No candle is included; the clear jar in the photos is a styling prop.
